Knowing he may never return, Lockley began writing about the history and wildlife of his beloved island. He sent what he wrote to his friend and brother-in-law John Buxton - a naturalist captured by the Germans in Norway in 1940. These letters to a prisoner-of-war, intended to solace Buxton in his captivity, became Letters from Skokholm. Our new edition includes the illustrations by C.F.
